Why do you think it is important to get good at conflict?
You are never truly in relationship with others if you don't know how to disagree or share controversial opinions. I founded the School of Conflict because I wholeheartedly believe that conflict empowers relationships. I'm on a mission to turn conflict on its head and redefine it as an opportunity. On a team level, learning how to have difficult conversations is key to building trust, resilience and reaching peak performance. On an individual level, it allows you to be in integrity with yourself and others. That in itself can be life changing.
Can you tell us a little about your background?
Prior to becoming a coach and trainer, I worked as a researcher in psychology and neuroscience at UCL and Oxford (MSc in Neuroscience, University of Oxford, UK). I have always been fascinated by the cognitive, emotional and behavioural mechanisms that facilitate change. I bring that passion and expertise to my coaching and facilitation work.

Why do you think it is important to get good at conflict?
Conflict is a huge growth opportunity. At the same time, it always involves a risk because we can't predict or control the outcome of it. Yet, walking away from conflict is not an option - when we do that, we abdicate leadership and allow the conflict to have power over us. If, instead, we learn the tools to manage it well, we are ultimately equipped with what it takes to be successful. We can harness its potential, bringing people closer together and harvesting meaningful change.

Why do you think it is important to get good at conflict?
Being unskilled at managing conflict will have us either deal with conflict in destructive manners, or avoiding it all together, which results in suboptimal decision making, ambiguity, and resentment. Mastering conflict, in contrast, opens the path to better decisions, stronger relationships and personal and organisational growth.
